May 13, 2010- Washington, D.C. National GEC President, Ralph Avallone was invited by Senator Kerry to attend the press conference on May 12, 2010 where Senator Kerry and Senator Lieberman presented the American Power Act to the Senate.

" I am honored that we have been asked to be in the company of such well respected NGO's as the World Wildlife Fund and the Environmental Defense Council." said National Green Energy Council President, Ralph Avallone."Today we showed the World that our Nation is serious in regards to reducing the effects of Climate Change and that we are serious about looking to green tech as a way to recapture American Prosperity."

"This bill has the potential to transform America, assist getting 17 million unemployed Americans back to work and securing a safe planet for our children and grandchildren." continued Avallone.

The American Power Act addresses climate change, a federal Renewable Portfolio Standard, Carbon Tax, Research and Development of new green technologies but most importantly the consumer, who needs the most help in finding a way to help fund energy efficiency. Fully 2/3 of the revenue generated from this legislation will find it's way back to the consumer.

It's not perfect but it's the step in the right direction. Our government has at least sent a message to the World that our Nation is part of the process for the first time addressing Climate Change as a real issue with real implications. It is a warning shot across the bow to China that we are prepared to be a competitor in green tech manufacturing and clean technology advancements. It's sends a message to the Middle East that we are prepared to at least make a plan to reduce our dependence on foreign oil. It's the beginning of the process with much work ahead. But at least the journey has begun!
